TREND FORCE V2 Trading Guide

Last updated: February 28, 2026

The Trend Force v2 (Scaled + EMA) is a momentum oscillator that measures the raw strength of the latest price action, uniquely adjusted by relative volume, to filter out weak moves and highlight explosive momentum shifts.

What does the indicator show?

  • Force Value Histogram: The main bars. Bright colors indicate "Strong" force exceeding the threshold, while dark colors mean "Weak" force.
  • Signal Line (Fast): A fast simple moving average (SMA) of the Force Value to catch early shifts.
  • Trend EMA (Slow): A baseline moving average to determine the overarching momentum trend.

Key Settings

  • Force Period: The smoothing applied to the pure price-volume calculation.
  • Volume SMA Period: The baseline used to judge if the current volume is unusually high.
  • Strong Threshold: The numerical level the Force Value must pass to turn bright (Strong).
  • Scale Multiplier: Adjusts the overall amplitude of the oscillator.

How to use Strategy Parameters (Condition Source)

Within the Strategy Tester module, you can use the Force values to detect breakaways and momentum surges.

1. Momentum Lines

Numerical oscillator levels for crossings.

  • Main Force Value — The calculated momentum score.
  • Trend EMA (30) — The slower baseline average.
  • Signal Line (Fast) — The fast trigger average.

Strategy Example: A solid trend confirmation would be: Main Force Value crosses_above Trend EMA (30).

2. Condition States

Boolean states extracted from the force metrics.

  • Strong Bull Detection — Triggers true when the bullish force exceeds the Strong Threshold.
  • Is Above Trend EMA — True whenever the Force is above its slow baseline.
