MACRO STRUCT ALIGNMENT Trading Guide

Last updated: March 13, 2026

The Macro Structural Alignment indicator solves a common trading problem: getting shaken out by fake, short-term trends. It maps out both a Macro Structure (hundreds of bars of data) and a Micro Structure (recent 10-30 bars). It only gives a signal when the Micro trend cleanly flips while price is safely sitting inside a massive Macro Support or Resistance zone.

What does the indicator show?

  • Macro Structure (Solid Lines & Zones): Thick, solid zig-zag lines mapping the global trend. The peaks and valleys extend forward as physical "Support Base" or "Resistance Base" shaded zones.
  • Micro Structure (Dashed Lines): Thin, dashed zig-zag lines mapping the short-term, local price swings.
  • Alignment Markers: High-visibility markers ("MACRO ALIGNED BULL" / "MACRO ALIGNED BEAR") that trigger exactly when the micro-trend reverses inside a macro-zone.

Key Settings

  • Macro Pivot Lookback: Number of bars used to calculate the major, global structure (default is 50, effectively analyzing hundreds of bars of swings).
  • Micro Pivot Lookback: Number of bars used to find local CHoCH (Change of Character) patterns.
  • Macro Zone Size (%): Defines what constitutes "inside" the macro zone. E.g., a setting of 2.0% means the micro reversal must happen within 2% of the major support level.

How to use Strategy Parameters (Condition Source)

Within the Strategy Tester module, you can leverage the discrete signals generated by this indicator to automate setups.

1. Aligned Reversals

Triggers indicating that local momentum and global structure are finally agreeing.

  • macroAlignedBull — Fires precisely when a local bearish trend shifts to bullish while sitting immediately on top of a major Macro Support level.
  • macroAlignedBear — Fires when a local bullish trend breaks down right inside a Macro Resistance territory.

Strategy Example: For a highly conservative bot, only take Long entries when macroAlignedBull is true.

2. Global Floor & Ceiling

Historical global levels.

  • macroRes — The exact price of the nearest overhead Macro structure point.
  • macroSup — The exact price of the underlying Macro support base.

Strategy Example: Set your automated Take Profit condition to exit the trade slightly before price hits the macroRes level.
