EASE OF FORCE OSCILLATOR Guia de trading

Ultima atualizacao: June 17, 2026

The Ease of Force Oscillator (EFO) is a hybrid oscillator that combines the concept of Ease of Movement (EMV) with dynamic standard deviation threshold bands. It is designed to identify when price movements are occurring easily on low volume (indicating high liquidity ease) versus when price changes are driven by major buying or selling force on high volume.

How it works

The EFO combines two core concepts:

  1. Ease of Movement: Measures the ratio of price movement compared to volume. If price moves easily on low volume, it suggests thin order books where a small force easily pulls the price.
  2. Volume Force: Measures the volume ratio against its moving average. If volume is high, it suggests strong buying or selling pressure.

By blending these factors, the indicator calculates a raw force value, which is then smoothed using an Exponential Moving Average (EMA). To provide scale stability and clear signals, a rolling Standard Deviation is calculated on the oscillator to generate dynamic upper and lower threshold bands.

What does the indicator show?

  • EFO Histogram: Zero-centered histogram representing the smoothed force of the market, color-coded by trend and volume dominance:
    • Bullish Strong (Bright Green): Price is moving up supported by high volume (strong buying force).
    • Bullish Easy (Sky Blue): Price is rising easily on low volume (small buys pulling price up).
    • Bearish Strong (Bright Red): Price is moving down driven by high volume (strong selling force).
    • Bearish Easy (Orange): Price is falling easily on low volume (small sells pulling price down).
  • Dynamic Threshold Bands: Dotted standard deviation bands representing normal trading limits. Crossings are marked with white dot indicators on the histogram.

Trading Strategies

  • Volatility Breakout: Go Long when the EFO histogram crosses above the Upper Band (generating a strong bull impulse), and go Short when it crosses below the Lower Band (generating a strong bear impulse).
  • Exhaustion Reversals: When EFO histogram peaks significantly outside the threshold bands and then reverses color (e.g. from Bright Green to Sky Blue or Orange), it indicates volume fatigue, signaling a potential trend reversal.
